Supporting the New Passenger Terminal at MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport (YHU)

NextGen Systems Group was pleased to support the development of the new passenger terminal at MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport, helping deliver critical airport special systems from concept through commissioning.

The opening of the new passenger terminal at MET – Montréal Metropolitan Airport marks an important milestone for air travel in Greater Montréal. The facility provides travellers with a new option for domestic air service and supports the continued growth of regional and national connectivity from the South Shore.

NextGen Systems Group was pleased to contribute to this successful project by providing specialized aviation consulting services for key terminal systems, including passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling systems, hold-baggage screening, security systems, IT security systems and terminal IT infrastructure.

Our role included support through the major stages of the project, from concept design and technical requirements through construction administration, submittal review, system testing and commissioning. These systems are essential to the day-to-day operation of a modern passenger terminal, and they require careful coordination between the airport, design team, contractors, vendors and operational stakeholders.

Projects of this type depend on more than the installation of new equipment. They require practical airport experience, an understanding of operational risk, and a clear focus on how passengers, bags, staff, aircraft and systems move through the facility. NextGen’s work helped support the integration of these systems so that the terminal could move from design and construction into active operation.

We are proud to have been part of the team supporting this major addition to Montréal’s aviation infrastructure, and we congratulate everyone involved in bringing the new MET terminal into service.
